I hope you are pretty
excited about your long trip be it educational or professional to US. A small
headsup the excitement of any form lasts only for few days and if it sustains
more then maybe few weeks.
This article is to give you
a peek into the “not so important things” you think or rather skip in the
excitement and regret (in most of the cases) once you land it USA.
I am making the list given
a probability of knowing about the journey about 2 months beforehand. Even if
you are late reading this article, worry not I had only 15 days at hand.
1.
Make a list (or use
the ones available online) and print it out and pack the bags as soon as you
get time. That’s one major chunk of work that will keep you occupied till the
last minute. Once this task is out of the window you are as free as a bird.
2.
Meet all your loved
ones. You might not get to see them for a couple of years and they will be
there for you in thick and thin. Chalk out a plan and set off on a journey.
3.
If you cannot meet
them, or they are far off…send them a personalised gift. And I am not talking
only girlfriends and boyfriends here. All your uncles, aunties, cousins etc.
4.
Call the rest and inform
them about your endeavours.
5.
Savour your taste
buds. I know you want to fit into those shorts and rock that body but you won’t
get the love and food you get here. So eat them all up.
6.
Click loads of pictures.
It might sound silly but you are going to treasure that. After all it’s your
first travel abroad.
7.
Visit the temple or
any other devotional place you worship.
8.
Watch movies, roam
around, have get together, be with people all the time.
I think these are the things
no one really tells you to do since its everyday stuff in India. But you will
long for the same once you reach US. So its better to gear up beforehand. Ultimately
memories last forever.
